Itinerary
Day 1 – A Warm Seaside Welcome
Check in at the Royal Hotel on South Parade and settle into your cosy room, just a short stroll from the seafront. You may wish to purchase a light lunch or a warming drink at the hotel’s Imperial Café Bar before venturing out to explore Skegness Beach. Wrap up against the sea breeze for a leisurely walk along the golden sands, or head to Skegness Pier to enjoy indoor amusements, arcades and family-friendly attractions. In the evening, return to the hotel to unwind with a leisurely dinner.
Day 2 – Lincolnshire Excursion: Lincoln, Spalding & Boston
After breakfast, board the coach for a full-day excursion exploring the highlights of Lincolnshire. We will begin in Lincoln, exploring the historic castle walls, enjoying views of the city from public areas and wandering the charming streets around the Steep Hill district. Admire the exterior and grounds of Lincoln Cathedral at no charge, with the option to pay locally should you wish to enter the Cathedral or other attractions (subject to availability).
After this, we will continue to Spalding, where the traditional Saturday Market runs in the town centre at Market Place (weather permitting). Here you will have the opportunity to browse fresh local produce, flowers, plants and household goods. This is also the perfect chance to enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the market cafés, food stalls, or nearby restaurants, soaking up the town’s lively atmosphere. Finally, after Spalding, we will continue to Boston, famous for its Pilgrim history. Explore St Botolph’s Church (“The Stump”) from the exterior or wander the historic town centre streets at a relaxed pace. We will then return to Skegness in the late afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening at the hotel, followed by dinner.
Day 3 – Rotherham & Wentworth Woodhouse
After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and travel to Rotherham for a visit to the magnificent Wentworth Woodhouse. Here we will enjoy admission to the house and gardens, including a guided house tour, where you will discover the fascinating stories of the aristocratic family and the staff who lived and worked there. After our visit, we will have time for a short walk around Rotherham town centre before returning to the hotel. Dinner will be served at the hotel this evening.
Day 4 – Market Rasen & Journey Home
After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and travel to Market Rasen for a leisurely visit. You may wish to stroll around the charming market town, browse local shops, or enjoy a coffee in one of the cafés. The surrounding Lincolnshire countryside offers opportunities for a short walk or simply to relax and stretch your legs before continuing your journey home, concluding a memorable four-day tour that blends historical exploration with a touch of local charm.
