Itinerary

Saturday | Travel to Melrose
We depart this morning and travel north in comfort to the Scottish Borders. On arrival in the charming town of Melrose, we check in to the Waverley Castle Hotel, our base for the tour. The remainder of the day is at leisure to settle in, with dinner served this evening.

Sunday | Abbotsford House & Afternoon Tea
After breakfast, we travel to Abbotsford, the magnificent former home of Sir Walter Scott. Enjoy a guided tour of the house, followed by free time to explore the beautiful gardens and surroundings. This afternoon, we enjoy a delightful afternoon tea before returning to the hotel later in the day. Dinner is served this evening.

Monday | Full Day in Edinburgh
Today we enjoy a full-day excursion to Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh. There is ample free time to explore at leisure, perhaps visit Edinburgh Castle, stroll along the Royal Mile, browse Princes Street, or enjoy the city’s many cafés and museums. We return to Melrose in the early evening for dinner at the hotel.

Tuesday | Galashiels & Melrose
After breakfast, we visit the bustling Borders town of Galashiels, with time to browse the shops and enjoy lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, we return to Melrose, where you can explore the town, visit the famous Melrose Abbey (entrance fees not included), or enjoy a gentle stroll along the River Tweed before returning to the hotel for our final evening and dinner.

Wednesday | Return Home
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and begin our journey home, arriving later in the day after a comfortable and relaxing tour of the Scottish Borders.
